What
is an MRI?
MRI is a diagnostic tool that produces very clear images of
the human body without using X-rays. MRI uses a strong magnet,
radiowaves, receivers and a computer to produce these images.
Nearly every part of the body may be studied with MRI.
What will I experience?
Although MRI is a very advanced medical technique, most people
find the exam easy and comfortable. An average exam takes
approximately 15 to 35 minutes. During this time, you will
hear a muffled thumping sound, and you must try to hold still.
Is there any preparation?
On the day of your exam, you may eat and drink as usual and
take your normal medications. Please remember to bring any
written orders from your physician, your insurance cards and
any recent exams
(X-rays, CT’s, etc.) of the area we will be scanning.
If you have any questions please call (727)
341-7080.
