The Rehabilitation Hospital at Palms of Pasadena
Oncology Rehabilitation Program

The Oncology Rehabilitation Program at Palms of Pasadena is a restorative program to help cancer survivors achieve an optimum level of health and life. The side effects of cancer treatment and impairments resulting from cancer can leave patients in a debilitated state and result in a loss of function. Our goal is to improve quality of life, focusing on helping patients regain previous levels of functioning or adjusting to new limitations.

Our physician - directed program is comprised of an interdisciplinary team that works with the patient and family to meet the individual’s needs and maximize functional ability for optimal independence.

Our medical team consists of:

  • Physicians
  • Physiatrists
  • Rehabilitation Nurses
  • Physical Therapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech Therapists
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Pharmacists
  • Dietitians
  • Social Workers

These skilled professionals focus on the disabling impairments of cancer treatment. Rehabilitation treatment plans are designed to address the specific needs of each patient individually.

Our Oncology Rehabilitation Program Specialties include:

  • Debilitation Risk Reduction – minimizes functional decline
  • Functional Mobility Restoration – restores physical function after cancer treatment
  • Post-Surgical Oncology Procedures – strives to return patients to their pre-surgical function and prepare for the possibility of further treatment
  • Pain Management
  • Fatigue Control – interventions to control cancer fatigue
  • Health Care Provider Training – trains the caregiver to safely help the patient with physical activities without risk of injury to themselves
